Court rejects Lalu Prasad Yadav's application:

A Bihar court Thursday rejected the application for discharge by the former chief minister of Bihar Lalu Prasad and Jagannath Mishra, the 11 accused in a scam with fraudulent withdrawal of Rs.47 lakh from the state coffers to buy fodder for public distribution, judicial sources said.

A designated Central Bureau of Investigation court dismissed the petitions of discharge after hearing the arguments of the case.

After the arguments were completed in the first week of August, the Court fixed August 18 to deliver an order on download requests, judicial sources said.

The court also ordered both Lalu Prasad and Jagannath Mishra to attend the proceedings at the next hearing date.

The case of fodder was filed against Lalu Prasad, Mishra and others accused of hatching a conspiracy fraudulent withdrawal of Rs. 47 lakh from Bhagalpur treasury between 1995 and 1996.
