Defence behemoth Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) said it has fabricated spacecraft panels for the actual Mars orbiter mission that will be launched by the actual state-run Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in November 2013.

“We have delivered the actual satellite structure for the actual space agency’s Mars orbiter mission aimed at studying the actual climate, geology, origin as well as evolution of the actual red planet,” HAL chairman R.K. Tyagi said in a statement here Friday.

The spacecraft structure, consisting of composite as well as metallic honeycomb sandwich panels along a central cylinder, was assembled at the actual state-run HAL’s aerospace hard in the actual city.

The space agency will integrate the actual subsystems as well as scientific instruments along the actual spacecraft, which will be launched on board a heavy rocket (PSLV-XL) from its spaceport at Sriharikota, approximately 80 km north east of Chennai.

The spacecraft will take over 300 days from the actual begin date to reach the actual Martian orbit, approximately 500 km from the actual planet’s surface.

“During its Martian orbit, the actual spacecraft will be 54.6 million km away from earth, which will create it the actual farthest to travel in space,” Tyagi pointed out.

ISRO chairman K. Radhakrishnan Monday said the actual Mars mission would be launched Nov 27, 2013 during the actual red planet would be closer to the actual earth.

“We plan to put a spacecraft in an elliptical orbit for studying its atmosphere as well as detect presence of life on its surface,” Radhakrishnan told reporters then.

The Rs.470-crore ($81 million) Mars mission will demonstrate India’s capability to send a spacecraft 55 million km away from earth as well as see for life-sustaining ingredients on the actual Martian surface.

“The Mars mission will create India connect the actual elite club of five top nations comprising the actual US, Russia, Europe, China as well as Japan, along indigenous technology for a 300-day space voyage from the actual begin date,” Radhakrishnan said.

As the actual fourth planet from sun as well as smallest celestial object in the actual solar system, Mars is terrestrial along breath-taking valleys, deserts, craters as well as volcanoes in a slim atmosphere.
